Local Law Enforcement
Roughly 50 automobiles have been covered with what appears to be human blood in the Germany's municipality of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.
Cars, exterior walls and postboxes were defaced, occasionally with swastikas, they stated in a statement.
Officers state they were alerted late on Wednesday night, when a man discovered that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been marked with a reddish fluid.
The fluid had been placed in the pattern of a banned symbol, they stated.
Officers then discovered numerous other vandalized cars and building exteriors in the surrounding area.
Swastikas are prohibited in Germany under regulations prohibiting the visible presentation of Nazi-era symbols.
Officials report early analysis suggest the substance was probably blood from a person.
"Currently there is no clue as to its origin; investigators are not yet cognizant of any injuries in association with the occurrence," they added.
Municipal representatives stated they were trying "to unravel the incident" and have appealed to the residents for information.
An important official stated the incident rendered him stunned and needed to be addressed quickly.
"This act strikes at the core of Hanau and reopens the trauma of the extremist attack in 2020," he wrote on social media, recalling the killing of nine individuals by a assailant targeting people of foreign heritage in February 2020.
